BIO

Cesar M. Reyes is currently a senior at California State University Northridge. He is in the Film Production program with an emphasis on Editing where he is looking to improve his artistic skills and pursue his dream of becoming a film director.

Cesar grew up in Lima, Peru and began showing interest in visual arts at a young age by participating in many different plays and folkloric dances. However, it was the production behind the scenes that got his attention. He was able to assist in the production of various plays during his high school years, such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Don Quixote de la Mancha the musical.

Once he arrived in the United States, he had to take on various jobs which help him learn not only many practical skills but also understand the concept of teamwork. Since he came to the United States, he always had a goal in his mind, and despite the language barriers, he was able to get an Associate of Arts Degree in Graphic Design.

While working as a graphic designer, he was able to also work as an art director in many projects for different clients. He had to manage a team of artists and deal with various vendors, all to fulfill the client's desires. This experience helped him to understand the concepts of timeframe, budget, and organization.

After many years working in a marketing company, he had the opportunity to work on projects that involved video editing, also shooting for commercials and promotional videos for different clients. It was then when he decided to go back to school and pursued his dream of becoming a director.

Because of his artistic background, he was able to help in the art department of the student film Wings. He was one of the art directors for the student film Chloe, and currently, he is assisting in the creation of all the graphics and set design for the student film Amal.

The love and support of his family, the passion he has for films, and the desire to become a director, are the fuel that helps Cesar pursue his dream.
